Hayley Russell, PhD

Hayley is our running psychology expert. She has a PhD in kinesiology at the University of Minnesota where she focused on sport and exercise psychology.
She is an associate professor at Gustavus Adolphus College where she teaches classes on sport psychology, exercise psychology, health behavior, lifespan development, and youth sport in society. Her favorite running companion is her dog Duke (Duke’s favorite running companion is Julianne).

Julianne Watterson, MEd

Julianne is our everyday runner. She has a journalism background and currently works in Title IX and prevention at Gustavus Adolphus College. She’s a freelance copy and content writer and loves to write about all things fitness, running, and wellbeing. She runs for the immediate mental peace, community and camaraderie, and to remind her that she can do hard things.
